Tjarnintja – A Journey of Culture, Knowledge, and Connection

Tjarnintja Birdwatching & Cultural Tours is the culmination of a lifelong passion for the land, the birds, and the culture of Central Australia. Founded by William Palmer, an Arrernte man from the West MacDonnell Ranges, Tjarnintja is built upon a foundation of knowledge passed down through generations of Arrernte people.

Raised on his family's traditional lands, William's upbringing was steeped in the language, culture, and stories of Country. Today, he continues to share that wisdom with visitors, guiding them through a deep, immersive experience where they can learn not just about the land, but about the way the Arrernte people see and understand it.

Tjarnintja is more than a business; it's a vision for the future, where local Aboriginal people are empowered through tourism, where cultural knowledge is preserved and shared, and where visitors can truly connect to the spirit of the land.
