Tjarnintja Birdwatching & Cultural Tours will offer a variety of tours, each designed to connect you with the land, the birds, and the rich cultural heritage of the Arrernte people. Our tours are led by William Palmer and other local guides who are deeply connected to the land and its traditions.

  • Simpsons Gap Tour

    Situated in Tjoritja/West MacDonnell National Park, this short tour of Simpsons Gap will be particularly desirable for tour groups and those with a special interest birdwatching, culture, wildlife, nature and photography tours.

  • Olive Pink Botanic Garden Tour

    A short guided walk through the Olive Pink Botanic Garden in Alice Springs, sharing Arrernte cultural knowledge of plants, birds and other animals.

  • Angkerle Atwatye / Standley Chasm

    Walk Country together with a professional and knowledgeable local Arrernte guide at the Arrernte-operated Angkerle Atwatye Standley Chasm. Learn about the Arrernte knowledge of plants & animals that have made this an important place for generations.

    1 hour tour, Adults $132/Child $73

  • A unique opportunity for tour operators and private self-drive visitors travelling through Tjoritja/West MacDonnell National Park to engage a highly qualified Arrernte cultural tourism guide and bird knowledge expert.

  • Half, full and multi-day options available for lead guide William Palmer of Tjarnintja Tours to ‘step on’ or meet you at various sites in Tjoritja or the Olive Pink Botanic Garden and share his deep Arrernte knowledge and connection to Country.
